Hi wonderful community.
I have been asked for a simple communication app and thought I would ask here.
"I am looking for simple communication apps that I can use to communicate with my care support people/workers. My brain has problems processing things so an app has to be simple to use. I often can’t type or look at screens for long so need a simple app that I can send pictures to care support people what I need ect"
Any advice? I have had a little look but it's hard as most blogs don't understand PEM

@Lau_EA_Aus It's difficult to understand what's being asked for. I just use SMS messages or something like WhatsApp to send messages to support workers
For me at least, setting phone to dark mode and increasing text size and decreasing screen brightness (how to do this depends which phone you have) makes the screen simpler and easier to look at

@Lau_EA_Aus I remembered that River shared this in the Severe thread
An app that might be useful for severe folk, those anticipating a flare up or illness progression: "LazyBoard" for android (I hate the name so much but it's a good app). You can try it for free and pay a few dollars for the full version, it's a once off payment, not subscription.
Typing on my phone is very cognitively exhausting. This app is an additional keyboard you can switch to as needed, which stores phrases for you. Then you just tap a button and it types out the whole phrase for you automatically. You can reorder and color code things to make them easier to find, and organise them into folders. I'm still setting mine up but I made a "care" folder for common tasks I need help with.
Here is what mine looks like so far. Make sure you set this up at a time when you are able to type so that its ready for when you need it!
I have heard there's an iOS equivalent called Wordboard, I found out about it on Whitney Dafoe's blog, but the post was old and I haven't checked if it's still available.

@Lau_EA_Aus FYI this app doesn't allow sending photos. It's purely for setting up buttons to send pre-written text, so might not be what that person needs.
Thanks River, I will add this to my email for them on Monday 🥰
