Hello everyone
-
Hi, my name is Kerry and I live in South Australia. I have lived with ME/CFS for over 30 years and have generally coped well until about 6 months ago. I have had a huge crash and I am struggling on a daily basis. I had all the tests to exclude any other illnesses and my physician confirmed ME. Again. My husband and I are bringing up 3 of our grandchildren aged 8, 12 and 15. They have been with us for 8 years and they are wonderful but it’s hard work made more challenging by my current crash.
My biggest issue at present is finding a GP who will support me, so if anyone has any advice I would be grateful.
Many thanks

@Marnie welcome. Long time to be living with this illness, and the challenges that have come with it.

@Marnie Welcome here. So sorry to hear of such a nasty, dramatic worsening of your ME/CFS. So hard when looking after children (and even harder when you are a few decades older).
It is good to have you here now though, I hope you can join in whenever you get the chance.

@Daffy_Dave thank you

@Marnie Gday Marnie, sorry to read about your return to the rigors and pain of this condition we call CFS. I also reside in SA and also like you am a long termer returned to the fold. I am not as aware of Drs as I was back in the days of the DIRC support group else I would have PM’d you with a few names, sadly my past resources are out of date. There is a however a local lady residing in the mid north who has taken over all the data who may be able to help. I rely less on Drs these days and depend on my life experience to manage my symptoms, extra hard now as I am a few weeks out of a covid infection and the two conditions dovetailed to create a new version of hell. Made worse now as my insulin pump has just alarmed and I am now in the midst of a hypo. Such fun managing multiple conditions, said tongue in cheek. All the best. TC
