Ah well, it gives me a second chance to send out good wishes to all you wonderful people.Best wishes and all good things
-
Happy first AND 2nd of the month Dot, and all
-
Welcome to March everyone. Just realised that Autumn is here. So the days will start to shorten and coolness will be in the area. Honestly though it doesn't really feel like Summer really happened this year.

Good afternoon,
I'm heading to Bendigo this afternoon, with my daughter, for a relative's memorial tomorrow.
Big deal. Equivalent to a six week whirlwind trip around the world for healthy people maybe!I used to live in Bendigo so it is special to go there, and I will see extended family.
I am in the middle of preparations
but so far so good, and I even managed to login in to this forum on my ipad so I might even be able to send a hello tomorrow. (I'll be home again tomorrow evening. Maybe
)
@coco @Vicki-Murtagh Hello.
Autumn is my favourite season.Best wishes all!
-
@Dot Yes it is a big deal and good you have your daughter with you. Hope it all goes well.
-
@dot, sending good wishes your way for a safe and comfortable trip today.
-
@Dot safe and happy travels today x

Can't figure out where to put this - so it's going here. Sorry if there's a better spot.
Uhg. It's been quite write off of a week.
I would say I was pretty severely cfs-y this week. It's been a while since i've been quite this bad and lost almost an entire week.
Probably the potential-flood threat stress, storms, crap sleep all contributed. :-/.
A bummer to lose a whole week I was feeling very determined at the end of last week (which was also pretty bad, but not as extreme is this week).
Sorry for the downer.
Hope your week was better than mine!

Hello,
Back into normal life, nearly. It is cool and grey here, and the rain has kindly given my plants a wonderful watering.
Thankyou for those precious good wishes!
I'm recovering from my overnight trip which was good but hard: hot all the time, a dreadful night sleep, hours driving. But lovely to spend time with family and friends.
Got back on Friday night, so I have had some good recovery time. But of course it is that dreaded second day....@coco Sigh. Life with ME/CFS.
Why couldn't even one week go as planned
Wouldn't it be nice if, when we had a bad week, the universe would give us a better one to make up for it.
But no, it could just as easily be another rotter.
(Well, I guess there is the possibility it could be a good week....)
Okay, off to see whether today is a rotter or not. With another cup of tea, and hopefully some more forum.

I'm so excited about this cooler weather! I almost can't remember the last time I felt cold (I think it was before I became severe), and I'm enjoying it so much I don't even want to put warmer clothes on.
The rain is so nice too. -
A lovely gentle shiny morning in my part of the world. I do hope it is as nice where you are.
@river Hooray. Isn't it a lovely change.
Yesterday was the dreaded second day for me. I thought I didn't get anything done apart from survive, but I did manage to make some steamed glutinous rice bowls with lots of yummy things in, 4 of them. So I have breakfast steaming away at the moment, and the next couple of breakfasts sorted too.
Thinking of everyone here getting up for the day. Preparing for difficult things that must be done, or working out how to make the best of a quiet day.
Sending good wishes
-
@Dot Ugghh. Second day is the worst. First day I'm unconscious. Second day I have to be (barely) awake and aware of the general crapulousness.
-
Hey @coco - sending super sympathy your way. It feels wretched when you had plans and CFS has other ideas. Giant hugs.
-
Hmmmm, big love to everyone who can't wait for summer to cool off.
However - I'm the opposite. Is anyone like me - thriving on the summer and the heat and the gorgeous sunlight, and having worse symptoms once it's cold and dark? Winter makes everything worse for me. Wondering just out of curiosity.
-
@Kristy4Coffee Ha, I'm both. There is a tiny crack of temperatures in between maybe 18 and 23C when I am not complaining
Cold used to be worst, but I got better at stopping myself from getting cold (layers/merino/uggboots/beanies/mittens/heatbags/heater up higher) and now heat is the worst because I can't stop myself from getting too hot.
I do seek out the sun all through winter and make it a priority to sit in it and drink in the light. I think I am lucky not to be too susceptible to SAD.
Sympathy to you, I hope you can make the most of this season, before it gets too dark and cold.
-
@Dot Iβm glad the memorial went well for you and I hope the PEM eases quickly.
News from my side of the continent is that DIL is back in hospital with an infection from recent gall bladder surgery! Poor girl has had an awful time of it
I have cold/flu symptoms so itβs off for a Covid test before I can go back to work. One of my students tested positive but I havenβt been notified by govt. so hoping I just have a simple cold
Hope the house inspections went well and that neighbours are quieter and all other obstacles and annoyances have passed for everyone else on here
-
@artist55
for DIL's recovery and a negative covid test. Though I know a simple cold isn't easy to deal with either.
-
Happy International Women's Day.
Lots to do. Like, why are there so many of us with ME/CFS!Sending a big shout out to everyone around the floods, and hoping really hard that you are not in them.
@artist55 Oh no, that is worrying news. I do hope treatment for your DIL helps get that infection gone quickly.
Have you got your test results back? I'm hoping they will strictly make you stay home until your cold symptoms are gone anyway.Hi @gretch and everyone reading. I've started my day well with another rice bowl, a lovely salty umami boost and so many veg in it.
Still going slowly, but I am up for some good bits of pottering around.
How is your day?
-
@Dot happy IWD to you too and happy slow pottering day.
Feeling very pleased with myself this morning for rarely cleaning up the miscellaneous things that pile up on or around my bedside table. Managed to find a plastic cup and blue tack to put underneath a slow aircon leak that started dripping water onto my bed in the middle of the night. Even found cotton wool balls to put in the cup to muffle the dripping sound. So relieved, turning it off or doing anything to investigate the leak did not seem like an option.
Score one for no spoons = no cleaning.
-
Happy international Women's day everyone.
May every day be a day we celebrate, honour, love, elevate and respect the women in our lives and beyond!
