Make Me Smile: a thread just for laughs and funny memes and things like that

@dot
My foggy brain took a sec to figure out what was going on but eventually got it. Thanks for the giggle. -

This is a bit different from the other posts but it's something that made me smile so I think it counts?
I've been watching Kurzgesagt on YouTube (for those unfamiliar, it's an educational channel that makes concise informative videos about a range of scientific topics, with really cute animated art).
There's one about dinosaurs and how wrong we've been about their probable appearance.
To demonstrate this they did an artists rendition of a sea lion based on how we might have illustrated it had we only had a fossil to go off.
It's so funny I had to take a screenshot

@river Interesting and so charming!

Hopefully this one is ok for those who can tolerate under 30 sec video with low colour, moderate movement & sound pre-set for personal preference/ sound off!
Letβs call it βthe joy of pacingβ π€ͺ

@dot Hello everyone I'm a newbie to the community room! Still in the pj's & taking it slow & steady this morning. The beautiful Laura from Emerge helped me with getting started as I'm a bit of a tech Nana & had trouble getting my login & password sorted lol. Looking forward to connecting as I've been on my own with ME for the last 4 yrs. Had a few tears this morning as this is what I've been looking for, a community of people who understand what it is like to live with ME. Above all it has changed me for the better, I'm so much more of 'me' (pun intended) than I was 4 yrs ago, venerable, open, compassionate, forgiving & self aware! I'm in a ME slump atm as I moved in Dec. All for the better as I now live right next to a park with swings & a large tree to climb in are only a few steps away from my front door, bringing out the big kid in me & memories of my childhood backyard in NZ. Had a good giggle at the meme's, thank you to all who posted

@dot this is me to a tee... & the typo's atm! They happen often & without any warning lol. Feels like my hands & brain are in their own departments & not sharing the memos...spell check is rocking my world

@djamie Welcome!
Isn't moving the worst.
And slow and steady is the best
Say hello to that beautiful tree from me! -
@djamie Welcome! Iβm glad you found us.
-
@djamie it was the Everest of moves! lol I didn't have help this time round, apart from the removalists. The best outcome is the unit I'm now in is full of light, big windows & sooooooooo much room for me to spread out. Trees all around & a nest of doves outside my kitchen window...winning!
And a separate room to set up jewellery/art studio, no more sharing the living space with art projects. Beats living next to train lines & above a music/guitar studio any day of the week.
Anyone else still in their pj's? I'm in Melbs & the cooler grey weather is helping the pj moment I'm currently in
@Dot I'll be up in the tree for us as soon as the energy tanks have some gas

@glimmer hello so glad to be here. Had a wee cry this morning with Laura from Emerge as she helped me to gain access to the forum. It really is the small things that make such a difference
How are you doing today? -
@djamie I had trouble getting onto the forum at the beginning too! Me and passwords donβt compute.
Iβm having a βbetterβ day today as I donβt have a headache.I get them almost on a daily basis and they zap everything out of me. Thanks for asking. Hope your day continues nicely.
-
@glimmer what can I say, the headaches are the worst & they are so debilitating. I understand from experience. The only way I could find relief was a visit to the craniosacral biodynamic osteopathy therapist I see. It's been so helpful & such a gentle form of therapy with positive relief from pain.
How do you manage? Has there been any way for you to find some relief? Heart felt vibes going out to you today
-
@glimmer the thing that has helped me reduce headaches and micgraines the most was dietary restrictions. eg fodmaps and gluten. everyone's different, but just wanted to share because i how how debilitating they can be!
