@dot I have been to the butcher, got everything I wanted, utterly exhausted
-
@iris One shop is enough, isn't it!
I hope you have got yourself a cuppa now.
Here is one incase you haven't (went for tea, but let me know if you'd rather a coffee)
-
@dot crashed out in the armchair for an hour and a half , have just had a drink of water and turned the TV on and found out Ash Barty is about to play. Still feel tired but not exhausted. That was a fancy cup of tea . Thank you
-
Hello, it is a beautiful morning and it was a cool night, so my home is as ready as it can be for the hot days.
Big jug of water at the ready and watermelon in the fridge.
@iris thankyou, your message meant I got to watch Ash Barty!
I hope you had a restful day, and especially that you got all the meat into the fridge and freezer before you fell into your armchair! (ME/CFS hazard)
Gold medal if you did!Thinking of those of us who are struggling with landlords, moving house, money worries, and the mountain of other things that make a hard life even harder. May there be gentle moments and some positive things
If you can take a moment come and tell me what you fancy for a drink and I will try and deliver (pictorially)
-
@dot Hello!! I think I'd like a nice iced latte. Cold coffee, creamy milk, ice cubes. I've just had my Bircher muesli and blueberries but if this is imaginary land I'd like the coffee with a slice of cake, maybe with lemon, berries and whipped cream. Haha!
-
@emsarah Ooh lovely, let's pretend I haven't had my second coffee, and can enjoy one of these with you!
-
@emsarah Here's the cake to go with it!
-
@dot that cake and coffee look great. I have my second double shot coffee here, its the only way I can survive.
I just ate some leftover burritos from last night, so good.I am feeling way better! Hooray. I overdid it yesterday and I am out of bed today, looks like my crash is over. Hooray! Until the next one!
back to my study, nearly finished my Grad Certificate, starting the Masters in March, was feeling apprehensive, but I'll get through it somehow~
-
@dot that is EXACTLY the type of cake I was after! The coffee too. Yum!
-
@sapphire777 Thatβs great youβre feeling like your on the other side. Ooh and that cake @Dot looks so nice.
I survived my booster but feeling totally wiped out. Donβt know if itβs just the trip in and going through the motions, or whether the vaccine is having some input. Maybe both. I remember @artist55 saying the same thing. Itβs a relief to have had it done. My son has covid at the moment, but getting through it okay.
Best wishes to you @bigfish and everyone else doing it tough out there. -
Yay cake for everyone!
Isn't the internet wonderful.@sapphire777 Hooray hooray.
May you keep your overdoing it small enough that you can continue to get out of bed the next day!
You will be a master!@Glimmer Yay
to have it done. I hope you feel less wiped out soon.
Best wishes to your son. My sister is improving but says she wouldn't wish covid on anyone. This is what I am drinking now. Can you guess what it is?
Hint: ME/CFS has made me tragically alcohol intolerant.
-
@dot Is that your glass? It looks like a Pieroth Wines glass. Mmm, now whatβs inside. Pomegranate juice (but thatβs high in sugar). Non alcoholic red wine? I was only thinking last night how much Iβd enjoy a glass of lovely Chardonnay. And a bit of cheese. Oh well, I can fantasise.
-
@glimmer hope you get through the pem from the booster
mine is tomorrow! Booster buddies
-
@emsarah Ooh Booster Buddy. I hope it all goes well for you.
-
@glimmer Thanks me too!
-
Hello from the couch!
Still trying to recover but passing the time sketching and watching Vanity Fair and answering text messages from all the people around me who still have exciting adventures
The premier has announced that the hard border will remain in place for now and the heatwave looks like itβs in no hurry to leave the state either, so WA is a fun place to be
Stay safe everyone. @Glimmer and @Dot hope your family members are on the road to recovery

@artist55 Do you have aircon at least?
-
@coco we have evaporative but it loses its effectiveness at about 35 degrees. After that itβs just hot air swirling around
I hope itβs cooler where you are!
-
Good morning precious people.
I survived the 5yo. I had the pleasure of her company yesterday morning and she was very good about no trip to the playground. It cooled down a bit overnight, and I can't bear to complain (yet) knowing that @artist55 is facing another 40C.
@Glimmer some excellent guesses re my drink, but not correct! I wonder if anyone will be able to guess. I will put a clue at the bottom of my post.
btw you might be right about the glasses, we had a little winetasting at my work (in the long gone olden days when I worked) and I got to keep the glasses. A couple of breaks since, but then found some matching ones in an op shop
@emsarah really hoping the booster shot was quick and easy and that you had no reaction.
@artist55 what an excellent day to be sketching and watching some quality drama. I hope today is as gentle. Sorry it is taking so long to recover from that big day out.
While my friends are adventuring I completely oscillate between bitterness and delight for them.
It is rather nice to adventure vicariously.okay, here is your clue folks, any more guesses?
-
@dot Mmmmm. Well I guess it has to be beetroot juice! Perhaps with added extras like apple, celery, carrot, ginger?
