Halloween All Day ME/CFS Friendly Extravaganza!
-
Welcome my lovelies!
Halloween opens early for ME/CFS because we are the classic time warpers!
Who knows what 5 minutes in the day we can pretend party?Come on in, there are comfy seats everywhere. Don't mind the spiderwebs!
Share your Halloween outfit, stories and paraphernalia. Comment, like, or just leave an emoji.
I asked my sisters what they would dress up as and very quickly decided on an Addams family theme (we are very old!). And we all wanted to be Morticia!
So here I am, welcoming you into Prague Castle, with a sister looking exactly the same on each side of me. Spooky!

When: Sunday 31st October All Day
Where: Prague Castle, Czechia
What: Feast, Dress-ups, Stories, Prizes, Halloween, Samhain, Mexican Day of the Dead, All Hallow's Eve
How: It's a big 'Let's Pretend'
I'll open it as a new thread as early on Sunday as I can.
You can pop in and share, or comment, or just leave an emojito show you have joined in.
Just do as much as you feel like.
Words and pictures!Feast: Tell us what food or drink you have brought to share, maybe find a picture to show us (see example below), and what you might try of what others have bought. It is all pretend so you can eat what you fancy!
Dress ups: Are you in costume? your best clothes? or still in your pyjamas? Have fun, tell us, describe! Make things up! Pictures welcome. Is your pet dressed up?
Stories: Share how you have celebrated Halloween before (if you have). Did you trick and treat, or was it an All Hallows church service? Did you go the Rocky Horror Show or dance to The Monster Mash? Do you have a scary story to share, a Halloween cartoon, or do you celebrate your ancestors?
Prizes: give a prize to anything you like. I will. Remember, they are just pretend though (ie it won't be a real new car).
Be creative!
Wait a minute, you don't like American consumerism? It's okay, we won't have any!
Oh, so you say it isn't an Australian tradition? True, that's why I am holding it in Czechia (my Czech born friend Jan told me of the Halloween traditions he grew up with).
It came from the Celtic celebration of Summer's end? Well, that's why I booked that amazing little room in Prague's Castle in the Northern Hemisphere, where winter is coming....
I hope to see you there
PS And next time someone comments how limited life must be with ME/CFS you can say "Well at least I had a fun Halloween party at Prague Castle last year!"

Yay @gretch and @Lau_EA_Aus, so glad to have two people checking in. It will be great to have some real life photos!
I woke up today kicking myself, I had the whole world to choose from and I didn't think of Dracula's castle! Maybe next year.
I did think Prague must have some gorgeous buildings and googled 'Prague Castle' just in case there was one.... and it is pretty much the main building of the city. So we will be in gorgeous surroundings.
-
@Dot Very appropriate looking building! Iβll try and get there.
-
This is amazing @Dot! I will be there! My partner's birthday is on Halloween and he will be out with his family for lunch so it will be nice to have friends to hang out with until he gets back
-
@Dot what an amazing building. I'm always so in awe of the minds that can transfer their vision into reality!
-
Children, family and friends are invited too!
I will ask Ms7 and Ms5 what they think I should dress up as, and what they would dress up as.@Glimmer, it is amazing isn't it! Founded in the 9th century (by Prince BoΕivoj). But this bit looks pretty gothic.
-
Yay @emsarah!
-
@Dot !
Preparing for tomorrow -
@Lau_EA_Aus Woot!
-
Here is your Halloween Breakfast: spider web pancakes! How many do you want?
And here are the instructions how to make them, just in case you have woken up with so much energy! https://mamapapabubba.com/2013/10/31/healthy-wholewheat-flax-spiderweb-pancakes/ -
Brilliant work Dot, and Happy Halloween all - I hope your days are as gently spooky as possible
-
@Dot Oooh, remove the spider, and then Iβll have a couple thanks. Hope thereβs no one out there with a spider phobia.
-
@Glimmer spider phobia would be me
but as itβs Halloween it might be time to face the fear. One seat for me

Sorry spider phobia people! Especially @Lau_EA_Aus
Luckily you only eat the web bit.@Daffy_Dave How nice to have a friendly ghost here.
It is so good to have people rocking in! If you get tired, Prague Castle has a lot of rooms (no one knows exactly how many!). You can go and rest. There will be a comfy bed.
-
@Dot
low energy Halloween activity with my kids and nephew
-
@Lau_EA_Aus What excellent colouring in! They are going to look fabulous! (I think the yellow owl one is my favourite). Could we (pretend) hang them up in our virtual party room when they are finished? They could be here as well as being in your home! (spooky).

Cat hair everywhere also counts as Halloween decoration right?
Especially if one of them is black.
