@Glimmer Yes., it's actually a small part of a larger piece of a balcony view. Pity the scones aren't real!
-
@artist55 Oh that’s very good. You’re very talented. The scones certainly look good enough to eat.
-
Good morning, it is Monday,
Haha, good advice @Glimmer but I did get four steps done in Mission Vacuum. AND I made my soup. Tick.
PS Isn't it nice when you are getting ready for bed, and you think "Oh no, I just don't have the energy to put my pyjamas on" and then you realise they have been on all day. Triumph!
Oh wow @artist55 , you are really good. I love that teaset! How nice for us all to have a virtual tea party on that balcony. I'm tempted to take the scone nearest the teapot because it has a ridiculous amount of jam. Maybe some whole berries in the jam. Yes, I bags that one! I'll need one of those beautiful blue serviettes too, for sure.
Miso the cat has hurt her front leg just above her paw. She is limping quite badly. It doesn't seem to be broken so I will see how she goes today. (So many reasons I don't want to take her to the vet. Money of course but she hates the car, hates the cat carrier, and it is hard for me too.) She has chosen to go outside, and hopefully she will be back soon to curl up on her sheepskin and heal. Happy for any advice.
Best wishes everyone for your day. How is it going?
-
@Dot Good morning. Well done to getting to step 4. The steps method is the way to go! The vacuum will be dutifully waiting for your return. Hope Miso is alright. Perhaps she has been bitten or stung. Look for any redness or swelling. I know what you mean about vet visits. My cat’s surgery and treatment cost over $3000, and daily trips took a toll on me and her.
Lovely to see blue skies this morning. Brightens the spirit a bit. -
@Dot I’m glad you got some of your chores done. Always satisfying to tick something off the list! Poor Miso. I hope her leg is better soon . Have you checked in between her toes/paw in case something’s in there?
Thank you for your kindness re the painting
As a treasured guest at our virtual tea party you can have any scone you like!
-
@Glimmer thank you so much
I wish I could bake them for real! How did your baking go?
-
@artist55 I have a very easy recipe so when recently I had one of my better days, I made a batch and put them in the freezer. So now I can indulge myself with one now and then.
-
Hello, how is everyone today?
I had the best health yesterday for ages. And I quickly vacuumed the floor when Miso the cat went out, incase she needed to stay in the rest of the day (the noise of the vac freaks her out). I've even put the vacuum cleaner away.
I caught up on so many things. Is it too much to ask for another good day today? Thanks for cat-sore-leg suggestions, I checked her paw carefully and no sign of bites or stings or anything there. Her leg felt a bit warm, but in the evening it seemed the same as her other one, and I do think she is improved this morning.
@Glimmer hooray for easy recipes that can also be frozen!
@artist55 thankyou for that virtual scone
Delicious. The jam was full of berries.
Best wishes everyone, my sister shared this quote from Amanda Palmer this morning and I thought I would put it here too:
"i wanted to remind you that i love you.
wherever you are, whatever you've lost, whatever past mistakes or selves or stories you are trying to shake, whatever joy maybe sparking or exploding in your heart.
especially if you are feeling lonely, i got you
i love you
the end" -
@Dot I’m still in the slow lane at a snail’s pace. Thank you for sharing your sister’s quote. Lovely.🥲.
Isn’t it great when you have a day when you feel some “normality” even if sometimes a short while later it’s gone. On the very rare occasion that happens to me I feel slightly concerned about doing more than I should. Hope that good feeling continues on for you today. And great that you got the vacuuming done. Good to hear that there may be some improvement with Miso too. -
@artist55 I love this still life painting ... especially the little details ... I also like vintage tea sets ... a must for afternoon teas ... art is such a joy to create and share ... so many possibilities, it sends my mind into overdrive ... ME cannot take away creativity .. and I dare to dream all the time ... thanks for sharing your work ... very inspiring and a joy to see...
-
@Dot Don't you love it when the vacuuming is done ... especially if you're able to do it yourself... it's ironic, that housework can be something we aspire to do, yet the satisfaction of being able to complete the chores makes you feel somewhat back in the real world and back in control. Glad you had an upswing .... have a great day
-
@Glimmer Be the best snail you can today ... I'm currently a snail as well but that's ok ... I'm just chatting here, ignoring the jobs that need doing ... I know they will eventually get done. Happy snail day!
-
@crashdummy Way to go.

Thank you for your lovely feedback - I firmly believe that art can make people feel loved, heal hearts and bring hope. I’m glad that it has also inspired your own creativity and dreams! It’s what keeps me going on the not-so-easy days🥰
-
@Dot what a lovely quote
I’m glad you are having a good day and that Miso seems a bit better.
-
Good morning,
A couple of slow days for me...
Well they were/are not too bad, I just always want to do more.@Glimmer, just one day normal-ish is such a treasure.
Miso is definitely a lot better today, sitting on my knee at the computer (which stops me doing the 'just three things' each time I get up, I am nailed down!) On the other hand it is lovely@crashdummy such an interesting thought about ME and creativity. I felt it whittled my creativity down to the essentials. I gave away my spinning wheel and plans for weaving and sewing and wider textiles and concentrated on knitting.
All my dreams of writing stayed dreams...
But that is about practice, in my mind I could keep developing creativity and philosophy and even critical thinking etc. So glad I have that. And big laughs, so true. Before ME/CFS I was the sort of person to leave housework until visitors were due (or an occasional big clean up when I would get the bug and work until 3am). I used to think that if I could have just one day healthy again I would climb Mt Baw Baw, or run along the beach... But now I just dream about giving my flat a good spring clean. Oh it would be SO satisfying!
I'm off to be the best little snail I can be today
Good wishes for your day everyone
-
Hope you've had as reasonable a snail day as possible @Dot, and that everyone else is muddling along as best as possible in the circumstances
Totally understand about cleaning - for some reason cleaning is far more exciting with ME/CFS than prior to having it
-
@Daffy_Dave Yes I cleaned the toilet today. Now that’s an achievement! Something to write in my diary….
-
Good morning everyone,
Hooray for clean toilets!Yes @Daffy_Dave ME/CFS sure changes our priorities!
If there are vision impaired people reading, please let me know. Too many emojis will be driving you up the wall.
Well, another day. A cold crisp start but the sun is shining. Is it the same where you are?
Little Miss grandchild is going to stay the night. Hoping she is now perfectly in the habit of sleeping through. I will pick her up this afternoon. Send good wishes!Best wishes to you too.

Morning everyone ... we have sun ...hoohoo ... a bit of cloud but that's ok ... can finally let some fresh air in ... and motivation ... enjoy the day wherever you are ... @Dot have a great night with little miss ...I'm enjoying these reality posts, thanks for sharing ...
