Thanks @artist55 ... yes, technology makes it so much easier than the past to keep in touch. It would be great if you had those tapes and could listen back to those recorded conversations ... that would be a walk down memory lane. I still have a cassette recorder somewhere in storage; I think there are some tapes in there from my school days. My friends and I use to record our attempts to sing songs from the top ten of the day (haha). Good old days! ... I remember digging a hole in Fawkner park close to the City of Melbourne and burying a time capsule that had our cherished keepsakes, drawings, photos etc and letters in it; just can't remember where exactly ... it's probably long gone by now. You've sparked my enthusiasm to create something long lasting for my granddaughter ... I think a little story and a few illustrations should keep me busy. 🤓

Woot woot Grandma experiment worked. The first night she slept dreadfully (from 8pm to 10pm then awake until 2:30am then slept until 6:30am) but the next two nights she slept right through.

I am pretty ME/CFSy now though and so will concentrate on recovery before taking her overnight again just before school holidays finish, so we don't waste the learning! (Very rose and thorns).

Goodness minding children stuffs up my good eating habits. And I need my good eating habits! Are you similar?

Ooh must run now. Part 2 later.

@Dot Glad it went well for you both! Now you need to take time for yourself and recover. Children are delightful but can be very draining to be around 😊

              Thanks @artist55 True words.

              I'm going very slow today.
What is your speed today everyone?

              a) racehorse (just joking, that would be crazy)
              b) old cat
              c) tortoise
              d) snail
              e) drip on end of icicle in cold cold cave.

I was e) yesterday but I think I am d) today. 10am and I have emptied the dishwasher!

              How is your day going?

@Dot I like the rankings. I’m a snail today, and have got as far as having breakfast. 🐌

That's a great scale @Dot (although option a might be a bit of a stretch 🐴 🙂 ). I'm probably a cross between a snail and a tortoise, after a few weeks rocking the PEM train. Very quiet day planned here - best of luck for everyone - here's to everyone's day being as manageable as possible.

@Dot considering it is 10:00 am and I just got dressed and achieved nothing else I’d have to admit to being a tortoise today 🐢😊

@Dot It's a snail day for me. So cold here, I'm feeling a bit like (e)... absolutely no energy, or the desire to do anything. Everything will just have to wait ... I finally managed by 1pm to get ready for the day. All I want is Devonshire Tea but no-one here knows how to make the scones. 😞

@crashdummy Oh I know that feeling of wanting Devonshire Tea! And you’ve just reminded me I made a batch of scones a while ago and put them in the freezer. And I have cream in the fridge. So you will have to mentally come and visit me. 🤗

Good morning (just) but I am wobbling between old cat and tortoise today 😄 which hopefully will mean I get a bit more done and then pull my head in, curled up on the couch, for a nap.

@Glimmer, I hope you snailed it through some delicious scones, so nice to virtually share them with @crashdummy.

You both made me hungry for my mum's scones, fresh from the oven, with homemade blackberry jam and some whipped cream on top. So many years since then.

Instead today it will be miso soup, I have things soaking (shiitake, wood ears, yuba) and will so enjoy a big bowl of that this evening.

I'm doing my 'just three things' to try and get the todo list done. It is so wonderful how just doing three little things every time I get up, results in so much done.

Unfortunately vacuuming needs to be done, in the living room at least. I can do step 1. and pull it out from under my bed. That might be little enough for me to cope with. How many steps to actually do the vacuuming? 2. Bring it into the living room 3.and 4. put away things on the floor 5. pull out the cord 6. plug it in 7. Watch an episode of Taskmaster ( 😄 ) 8. Have a cup of tea. 9 Vacuum 10, 11 and 12 unplug cord and zzzzip it away, vacuum back to my room, vacuum under the bed.

Wo a whole days work. Focus Dot. You can do it! (or I can decide to leave it til tomorrow). I wonder which. Exciting times 😉

What do you think you might do today?

@Dot @Glimmer @crashdummy I'm not good at baking but maybe this painting of scones will tide you over.
This is my 2nd attempt at attaching a picture. Hopefully this one comes out:)

@Dot Leave it until tomorrow! You’ve got your soup to make. I’m still a snail, an even slower one, still in the pjs, still in bed. But at least the cat has been fed. Got to get the priorities right. 🐈‍⬛

@artist55 Right, I must get those scones out of the freezer. You’ve inspired me. My afternoon treat. Is that one of your paintings?

@Glimmer Yes., it's actually a small part of a larger piece of a balcony view. Pity the scones aren't real!

                                        Good morning, it is Monday,

Haha, good advice @Glimmer but I did get four steps done in Mission Vacuum. AND I made my soup. Tick.

PS Isn't it nice when you are getting ready for bed, and you think "Oh no, I just don't have the energy to put my pyjamas on" and then you realise they have been on all day. Triumph!

Oh wow @artist55 , you are really good. I love that teaset! How nice for us all to have a virtual tea party on that balcony. I'm tempted to take the scone nearest the teapot because it has a ridiculous amount of jam. Maybe some whole berries in the jam. Yes, I bags that one! I'll need one of those beautiful blue serviettes too, for sure.

Miso the cat has hurt her front leg just above her paw. She is limping quite badly. It doesn't seem to be broken so I will see how she goes today. (So many reasons I don't want to take her to the vet. Money of course but she hates the car, hates the cat carrier, and it is hard for me too.) She has chosen to go outside, and hopefully she will be back soon to curl up on her sheepskin and heal. Happy for any advice.

Best wishes everyone for your day. How is it going?

@Dot Good morning. Well done to getting to step 4. The steps method is the way to go! The vacuum will be dutifully waiting for your return. Hope Miso is alright. Perhaps she has been bitten or stung. Look for any redness or swelling. I know what you mean about vet visits. My cat’s surgery and treatment cost over $3000, and daily trips took a toll on me and her.
Lovely to see blue skies this morning. Brightens the spirit a bit.

@Dot I’m glad you got some of your chores done. Always satisfying to tick something off the list! Poor Miso. I hope her leg is better soon . Have you checked in between her toes/paw in case something’s in there?

Thank you for your kindness re the painting 😊 As a treasured guest at our virtual tea party you can have any scone you like!
