Trying to keep track of the days. Any Sydneysiders here? Sending special good wishes to you.
@Glimmer I do agree about that bit of extra relaxation on the weekend.
I hope you had a lovely sisterskype. I have 3 sisters I am close to and we zoom on Thursdays.

Big plans yesterday. My 6yo granddaughter loves to stay here but she sleeps so badly I am pretty near dead the next day (wakes up at 3am and can't get back to sleep kind of thing). But we are going to do an experiment this week to see if she gets used to sleeping here if we do a few days in a row. It is a BIG DEAL! I am picking her up on Monday evening and then we will see. I can take her home during the day if I need a break, and then pick her up again. Wish us luck.

Expect some strange daily chats next week!

@Dot You definitely need good luck next week. Hope it doesn’t affect your health too much. Bit of the rose and the thorn happening there.

@Dot how did lockdown last year affect you with regard to seeing the grandkids?

@Glimmer definitely rose and thorn. It was even rosier and thornier when I was bringing up their mum as I had CFS then too and it was terribly hard.

@iris I was not able to visit them in lockdown last year but most days we'd do facebook video. It consisted of them squealing "Grandma! Grandma!" and putting on all the filters and some games that are on it. We had to have the timer on for a 5 minute turn. It was all silliness but it kept the lovely connection.

The day lockdown eased I was there for breakfast 😄

@Dot Hi Dot, Lovely to hear you are having some grandie time 💕 No school holidays yet- I’m in WA. Only a week to go although we have just heard the news that we are back in phase 1 - masks etc. because of a recent outbreak so a tiny (bad) part of me is hoping the school week will be shortened 😂

@artist55 So many states needing to act at the moment! I'll cross my fingers they close WA primary schools at least one day early, quite unnecessarily 😄 😄

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good day .... I can't wait to see my granddaughter again ... My daughter, son-in law and dearest little 2 year old live in Queensland and I'm in Victoria ... We managed a catch up last xmas in Vic and a day in March this year but I fear I won't be seeing them for some time. It is awful knowing that lockdowns and ME make it near on impossible to travel to see them. I write little letters to her ...one day she will be able to read them and perhaps write back. It has been sunny with cloud today and I managed to get outside for an hour and get some fresh air. Just about to get the fire started as the cold is starting to set in. Hope you all have a lovely evening ....

                      Good morning everyone,
                      How is your day going?

Mine is hurtling by. I just wanted a cruisy time having breakfast and coffee before I started grandchild prep but oh dear, time is flying.

That isn't going to stop me from chatting here, haha.

@artist55 are you the woman going around making sure WA schools shut?
(Just joking, my fingers are crossed so hard that all the states dealing with covid cases are quickly successful. )

@crashdummy ooh my heart aches for you. My daughter's family were in Sydney for nearly two years of my No1 granddaughter's life. Luckily for me they moved back to Melbourne for darling GD2.
Those little letters sound just so precious.

Sending special wishes to everyone dealing with nasty symptoms this morning. That will cover us all won't it. Hoping you can do all the good things. Here are some medals because you deserve at least one: 🎖 🎖 🎖 🎖 🎖 🎖

@crashdummy I do hope you are able to visit each other soon! When I was little we emigrated and left my nana behind. In those days we recorded audio tapes which took weeks to get to her by snail mail😂 Wish we had computers and zoom back then!

Thanks @artist55 ... yes, technology makes it so much easier than the past to keep in touch. It would be great if you had those tapes and could listen back to those recorded conversations ... that would be a walk down memory lane. I still have a cassette recorder somewhere in storage; I think there are some tapes in there from my school days. My friends and I use to record our attempts to sing songs from the top ten of the day (haha). Good old days! ... I remember digging a hole in Fawkner park close to the City of Melbourne and burying a time capsule that had our cherished keepsakes, drawings, photos etc and letters in it; just can't remember where exactly ... it's probably long gone by now. You've sparked my enthusiasm to create something long lasting for my granddaughter ... I think a little story and a few illustrations should keep me busy. 🤓

Woot woot Grandma experiment worked. The first night she slept dreadfully (from 8pm to 10pm then awake until 2:30am then slept until 6:30am) but the next two nights she slept right through.

I am pretty ME/CFSy now though and so will concentrate on recovery before taking her overnight again just before school holidays finish, so we don't waste the learning! (Very rose and thorns).

Goodness minding children stuffs up my good eating habits. And I need my good eating habits! Are you similar?

Ooh must run now. Part 2 later.

@Dot Glad it went well for you both! Now you need to take time for yourself and recover. Children are delightful but can be very draining to be around 😊

                                    Thanks @artist55 True words.

                                    I'm going very slow today.
What is your speed today everyone?

                                    a) racehorse (just joking, that would be crazy)
                                    b) old cat
                                    c) tortoise
                                    d) snail
                                    e) drip on end of icicle in cold cold cave.

I was e) yesterday but I think I am d) today. 10am and I have emptied the dishwasher!

                                    How is your day going?

That's a great scale @Dot (although option a might be a bit of a stretch 🐴 🙂 ). I'm probably a cross between a snail and a tortoise, after a few weeks rocking the PEM train. Very quiet day planned here - best of luck for everyone - here's to everyone's day being as manageable as possible.

@Dot considering it is 10:00 am and I just got dressed and achieved nothing else I’d have to admit to being a tortoise today 🐢😊

@Dot It's a snail day for me. So cold here, I'm feeling a bit like (e)... absolutely no energy, or the desire to do anything. Everything will just have to wait ... I finally managed by 1pm to get ready for the day. All I want is Devonshire Tea but no-one here knows how to make the scones. 😞
