      Good morning everyone,

Thanks @artist55 My own teacher voice was also counselling me and I did have an easy day (and no extra energy for anything so this morning I have a kitchen to clean up!).
But this morning I got myself dressed and walked maskless through the sweet sun to the big op shop round the corner. (Masked and QR'd) I was first in! The bowls I wanted were still there from pre lockdown, plus I scored 3 light tshirts (2 linen and one cotton), and two other tops, and a jug to replace one I broke. Then back home through the sun. I'm a happy Dot!

I'm having a cuppa at the computer and then I will lie down!

Did you manage to get another peaceful night?
Hooray for being able to work on the portrait. What a treat.

Sending best wishes to everyone that today holds some precious times 🌙 🌿 🦉 🐇 🐓 🐖

@Dot What a great morning you’ve had. 🤗 I’m hoping to get outside and rescue a couple of pots that were blown over in the strong wind yesterday, and I’ll probably find they need watering too. And then that will be it for today. Phew, I feel exhausted just talking about it. Where’s that magic wand when we need it.

Feeling a bit better but still crap

Kind of in a crappy place atm because mentally feeling really motivated and wanting momentum but body says ´no!’

          Blah!

Happy last day of october everybody.

          Stay spooky 🎃

            Good morning,

After I posted yesterday I realised I needed to simultaneously lie down and tidy the kitchen. Very tricky. I did about 50% each and it just about got me through. 😵

@Glimmer Ha yes, a magic wand. Wouldn't that be lovely. Or maybe staff! A handy gardener, as well as a cleaner, secretary and cook.
I hope the pot plants survived their knock, and settled back in with a good water.

@coco Ooh I know that feeling. Before ME/CFS I had the idea I was quite a lazy, laid back person, but it turns out I was a 'doer' and achiever and ME/CFS is so frustrating. It should be called the Chronic Frustration Syndrome!
I do hope a bit of body energy comes along to match your mental energy.

Cheers to all you frustrated acheivers, you got through another day so that is the most important acheivement.
            Special wishes to you @sapphire777

And just incase you've missed my invite, everyone, there is a virtual Halloween party happening today. See the thread https://community.emerge.org.au/topic/560/halloween-all-day-me-cfs-friendly-extravaganza
If you have even the tiniest bit of energy to spare do pop in and comment, it will make it so much more fun for everyone.

I'll be adding things there throughout the day. Enjoy.
(Check out what I am offering for breakfast!)

Last day of October, where did it go?

            Best wishes 🌙 🐾

                    Good morning,
Sitting here with a lovely cup of tea.

                    Sending best wishes to everyone.

@artist55 really hoping you have been able to take a sick day, but if you are at school, teaching, I do hope the kids are delightful and the day goes easily.

@sapphire777 hoping you got another sleep in today and a then a few big cuppas to rehydrate yourself, and that today is a gem.
I so appreciated you making the time to join in with the Halloween party and send us to Count Dracula's castle.

And everyone else who joined in! Even virtual parties take some effort and concentration.
I think everyone got a piece of the wonderful cake, a spooky drink and, ofcourse, an eyeball in their soup bowl. Thanks so much everyone for making it fun.

                    ciao 🐦

Hi @Dot! Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea 🌻

Thanks again for the Halloween party and all your organising 😊

Now I know how to post photos haha... I've been watching this Willy Wagtail in its nest that it built on the clothesline. Didn't go so well in the storm last week but since it's been sunny they are back and chirping away!

I'm glad too @Glimmer! I was sure she wouldn't come back but here she is. It seems like a very exposed spot but maybe she likes the view?

                            Hello everyone 🍃
Feeling rather blah and missing the world today… must be the blue skies.

In better news though I went to cafe (!!!) on the weekend with my closest friends. It was my first time out for a social thing in many months and since lockdown ended, and also my first time taking my rental wheelchair out of the house. I only spent about an hour there then came home but it was so nice to be pushed and to not have to walk. Today though I am thinking about how nice it would be to walk without symptoms again. 😓 Even just to the cafe down the road and back… I’ve never been an active person but it’s these small things that sting the most for me.

@emsarah So precious that little guy is keeping you company 💛 Such a sturdy and resourceful use of space! So cute.

                              Good morning,

@emsarah what a beautiful little nest to have in view! I hope you will be able to give us updates!

An ME/CFS friend had a treat when she was almost completely bedbound, but a bird (swallow maybe?) built its nest right outside her bedroom window and she could watch a season of birdy soap opera as the babies hatched, grew up and fledged.

                              Willy wagtails are such characters!

@yawning I think 'blah' might be the scientific unit for measuring ME/CFS. Let's hope 'blah' levels are not up today.
Oh yes, just one walk without symptoms! It is not much to ask, and fingers crossed it will be possible. Especially if your wheelchair does your job and saves you from keeping on exacerbating your symptoms.
Hooray for a cafe visit with your friends!

@Glimmer is that cat of yours keeping you in line?
(Miso the cat is very pleased as I have the front and back doors open at the moment. She gets very irritated by a shut door.)

It is a jump in temperature in Melbourne today and I do wilt in the heat. Hopefully my home will stay cool and I can protect my seedlings.

How are you going in today's weather (whatever it is wherever you are)?

                              Best wishes

@yawning a cafe trip sounds nice! What did you have? I'm glad you could use your chair to get there. Was that your first time using one? I feel you about walking. I used to love walking, I'd go huge walks on the weekend and walk to work but I agree just a short trip down the road now would be amazing.

@Dot hope you and your plants are going ok this afternoon and you haven't melted!

@Glimmer I would love a cat for bed company! How long have you had yours?

🐦 Bird update (my partner has called her and her partner Wilma and Willy) Wilma is still on the nest today but she's hot, got her little beak open. Crossing my fingers the babies will hatch quickly before real summer weather hits!!

@emsarah Hope Wilma and Willy will be okay out in the hot sun. They normally nest under eaves in sheds, carports, etc. I’ve had my cat Hannah for ten years, so she’s definitely part of the family. She’s hard to look after at times but her companionship and funny antics make it worthwhile.

I had a karaage chicken poke bowl, loaded waffle fries and a coffee @emsarah! If you can’t guess, I live on the hipster side of town.

It was my first time using the chair in public. It’s a self-propelled and I hired it thinking I’d be able to use it myself but I was quickly proven wrong… Pushing uses up a lot of energy! I’m thinking about investing in a power wheelchair now.

It’s the cutest when birds open their beaks like that. 😍 Also pleased to learn there are some other cat lovers here. I have a 3 year old shorthair tortie. She’s a force… Not sure what I’d do without her.

@Glimmer argh Wilma has no shelter silly billy. We will have to build a little verandah around her 😂. Aw Hannah is a cute cat name! Aw yes cuddles and antics definitely make it worthwhile.

@yawning haha that sounds amazing. I'm all for hipster food if it tastes good. Karaage chicken mmmhmm 👌 Oof and it's been so long since I've had coffee, yum!
Good on you for trying out the chair by hiring it first, then you can see if it helps you do what you'd like to do more of! I am borrowing one from someone but my partner has only pushed me in it up and down the corridor of our house. I might have to use it when I go to the specialist but I'm so nervous they will think I'm being dramatic! The problem totally is needing a push, so a power chair would be amazing. You'll be having poké bowls at the café every week if you get one! 😊
Yay for you also having a cat for cuddles!

@yawning I hope you can get a powerchair, it would probably really help you! I have both a powerchair and self propelled chair so can give you advice if you need.

I'm struggling with my pacing today, I think I have some kind of sinus infection secondary to bad hayfever and lying down makes the gross goo in my nose run down the back of my throat and exacerbates my chronic tonsillitis. So lying down isn't very pleasant right now. I'm also a little bit anxious because any time I have respiratory symptoms I worry that its covid. Anyone else struggling with the hayfever lately?!
