@Dot how is miso coping with the new cat?
@Dot Oh I like that little saying. I’ve been a snail for awhile, but I’m hoping that I’m emerging into a tortoise now, but better not speak too soon. No, the concreting still isn’t finished. They seem to take forever doing the grading, so the concrete hasn’t been poured, and now with lockdown back on, there may be a further delay. Definitely can’t sing about good vibrations at the moment.
@Glimmer so sorry about the stressful noise and the lockdown too. We narrowly avoided lockdown this week, but remain ever watchful Wishing you some noise canceling headphones and a restful weekend!
@Dot I’m still in bed and will be taking it easy until later today when I’ll have to go out to buy a birthday gift. I loved your little snail poem !
Ha yes, that haiku puts a nice spin on how slowly I am moving through the zen garden of life at the moment.
@iris Miso the cat is managing to avoid the new white cat with the blue collar (who is lording it over the neighbourhood from one end of the street to the other) but I did see Miso drinking out of White Cat's bowl so that must be her way of holding her own, haha.
@Glimmer Oh grr re the driveway. Might they take a break over the weekend? Or just get it over and done with for goodness sake!
@artist55 Glad to hear you got a big lie in, and I hope you found a lovely present.
Take it easy everyone, I hope there are lots of little pleasures to find through the day.
Off for a pot of coffee to be my next little pleasure.
Best wishes and all good things
@Dot thanks for your news about miso. Miso has it all sussed out. We had a fox living under the house next door. It was using my back yard as a killing field, all that was left of the magpie s were the feathers.
Hopefully this lockdown won't last too long
@Dot at mention of the lockdown how does this affect you with regard to seeing your daughter and granddaughter s?
Hello, it is Tuesday already! How did that happen?
I've been crook with a sore throat (covid test negative) and I am so relieved to be getting back to my usual dreadful health. A couple more days I think.
@iris Oh dear, poor magpie.
So glad the regions are out of the lockdown. Cheers everyone in regional Victoria!
I think I caught the sore throat from a grandchild (kindergarten) because they needed some compassionate support last week. My daughter is on top of things now (or she was yesterday).
Otherwise I catch them on facebook video, which involves me lying down holding my ipad and them squealing 'grandma! grandma!' and playing with the filters etc.
Hello to everyone, how are you finding things today? Sending a big cheerio!
@Dot so sorry to hear that you have been off-colour and here was me thinking you might be in a social bubble with your daughter. How difficult was the covid test?
@Dot sorry to hear you have been unwell with kindy germs! I hope you will be feeling as well as possible soon.
Good Morning Everyone .... I've been out of the loop of life for an ugly stint of PEM and just coming through it relatively ok, so I haven't read the posts yet. I'll get to it over the next couple of days. Out of lockdown in regional Vic came at the right time, with medical emergencies in the family. At least we could deal with it relatively easy but still ongoing. I want to wish everyone a very happy day and to join me for a well deserved afternoon tea. Have a cuppa and cheeky cake at 3pm in your favourite spot if you can. I will be raising my cup to you all then in solidarity.
@Dot Hope that pesky sore throat eventually goes away. I get a lot of sore throats and find olive leaf extract to be of benefit. Revolting taste though! @crashdummy welcome back to the other side. At 3pm I’ll join you with a cuppa. I’m off for my 2nd AZ jab this morning. so I’ll be celebrating at 3pm as well.
Hello everyone it is Thursday morning (Artist's Friday again I hope)
Yesterday was a write off so today I would need the energy of an Olympic athlete to do half the things I really need to do. Trying to work out if vacuuming is more important than buying my coffee (and a few other things).
Yes, if I have to, I can vacuum without having coffee first. Surely I can!
@crashdummy Sympathy for those days recovering from PEM, Cheers for regional Victoria having restrictions lifted just in time. (I heard a whisper there is a case in the regions today, fingers crossed it doesn't change the advice).
That cuppa and cake was enjoyed virtually by me.
Mmm I chose a slice of the beautiful baked ricotta cheesecake I used to get down Lygon St, and a lovely coffee with it.
A bonus of it being virtual was no nausea @artist55
@Glimmer I have never tried olive leaf extract, thanks for the tip. Hope you went well with the 2nd AZ. Woot.
PS @Daffy_Dave are you fine now after your vacc? Hoping no report back means it was so easy you forgot it.
Okay. I can at least pull the vacuum cleaner out from under the bed. Small, easy steps! Bye now.
@Dot Hello there. Hope you managed the vacuuming and a coffee.
I’ve had no problems since the jab, apart from a sore arm and a bit of stomach discomfort. Nice to know it’s done and even better once the 2-3 weeks have passed. And the hub was once again nice and quiet so no waiting.
I thought of you all when I had my 3pm cuppa. But no cake as I’m sugar intolerant. Sometimes I treat myself to a plain digestive as they’re low in sugar. Thanks for the invitation @crashdummy. ️
Hi everyone, @Dot @Glimmer ...glad you enjoyed your afternoon teas. I raised my cuppa at precisely 3pm and reflected on the world and all in it. It was a very solemn moment yet with an infused sense of hopeful anticipation that when there are downs, ups usually follow. The laws of probability haven't let me down yet. I pondered on how I could possibly make any significant difference or contribute to our emerge community. I'm working on this and I feel very strong about wanting to at least try. Where I go with it, I don't know yet but I certainly feel that the answers to ME/CFS and our lives living with it, await the research/medical people and one day the code will be cracked. A dream maybe but only possible if funding and I mean lots of money is available. How does an ME/CFS sufferer, possibly make millions towards this beastly task. It's making me dizzy just contemplating it, so I'm putting it out there in a new thread to explore this. Who knows maybe that great idea is out there, waiting to be discovered ! Either way, it would be interesting to know your thoughts and to hear from anyone currently involved in a fundraiser for ME/CFS. If I don't reply promptly, it's because I'm asleep!!! Happy days people...Oh and @Dot your ricotta baked cheesecake from Lygon Street sent me down memory lane. @Glimmer Yep, it's a bugger when sugar is off the list. Well done on not being tempted... I'm just terrible at keeping sweet things away...
Hi @Dot, thanks for asking PFizer wore off in about a week, but then I got smashed by a virus, which I'm just coming out of now, but busy day today so probably (highly likely, but there's always hope) PEM waiting for me tomorrow. Sorry to be a bit out of it here - I hope the vacuuming was successful, and PEM as mild as possible
I didn't manage the vacuuming yesterday, but I managed to get to the shop mid afternoon and get coffee. It was really too late for a coffee for me when I got home (best stick to morning coffees if I want to sleep) but I couldn't resist, and didn't it spark me up!
Luckily I slept as well as usual (which is pretty bad tbh). Vacuuming today!
@Glimmer I call myself sugar intolerant too. You are the FIRST person I have heard say the same thing! (That's why my cake was virtual, and a memory from long ago )
I can't even eat fruit (berries are okay, and a small piece of melon, but that's about it) but my symptoms don't match with glucose intolerance, I just feel dreadful in a poisoned sort of way. And it hasn't improved even after years of not eating it. (Luckily I still find plenty of delicious things to eat, and I am pretty well used to it). My doctor just shakes her head, no idea. Is yours glucose intolerance?
So glad your reaction to the vaccination has been mild and it was done easily. I hope your arm and tum are better today.
@Daffy_Dave Wo! I had the same after my AZ. Smashed with a virus (but 2 weeks after my jab). Hope you are okay today. (I recommend a coffee ).
Hmm, I had better brace for post vacuuming PEM tomorrow.
Ah these are the little trivialities that make up life with ME/CFS... sigh.
Okay. A lovely cheer to all you beautiful people and here I am one step closer to getting clean carpet!
