Where to turn in a crisis
Most people with ME/CFS go through difficult times at one time or another - which is completely understandable given the nature of the disease. It’s important not to give up hope and to seek help if you need it.
While forum members are here to help and support one another it may sometimes be helpful to speak to a professional.
You can seek immediate help through one of the following organisations.
Lifeline operates an online forum hosted by SANE Australia which is moderated 24/7 by mental health professionals: https://www.lifeline.org.au/real-experiences/discussion-forums/
The Suicide Call Back Service 1300 659 467 provides immediate support to anyone feeling suicidal. In addition, they can provide ongoing support with up to six telephone counselling sessions.

While we recognise that many people experience issues finding understanding medical practitioners, a GP may be able to help determine the best option for professional help over the medium or longer term.
